We are guided by our large informal network of colleagues, medical professionals throughout the developing world. These caring men and women are focused on the large disparities in health between the relatively few rich and the much greater number of poor in the settings in which they work.
As part of our commitment to reinventing what a nonprofit organization working internationally should look like, we adhere to a set of principles designed optimize our effectiveness in helping people in developing countries, while making efficient use of the donor money supporting our work.
To qualify as a venture strategy, a project must have reasonable odds of creating helpful, systemic change in one or more developing countries on a significant scale in the near term, using opportunities offered by existing market structures. In doing this, a venture strategy is creating, implementing or expediting a selected lever on change.
